Zellco Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1936 as Bogalusa Paper Company Federal Credit Union. The credit union was created to help meet the financial needs of the paper company employees and their families. When the Bogalusa Paper Company was purchased by Crown Zellerbach Corporation, the name of the credit union was changed to Zellco Federal Credit Union.
In 1983 the credit union was granted a community charter. The addition of a community charter allowed the credit union to include anyone who lives or works in Washington Parish.
In 2003 the credit union expanded into Pearl River, Marion, and rural St. Tammany Parish Counties to include anyone who lives, works or worships in the counties.
We want our members to "Experience the Credit Union Difference". All our members are special. Zellco provides a safe and financially sound institution where members are guaranteed fast and friendly personal service.
